The Story of Fuller Center Macon Founded in 2011, The Fuller Center for Housing of Macon was organized to help serve Bibb, Twiggs, Jones, Monroe, Crawford, and Houston Counties with low-income housing solutions through the Fuller Center for Housing's Save a House/Make a Home and Greater Blessings programs. Located in the central part of the state and with a population of over 155,000 in Bibb County alone, the needs are great for helping families maintain their homes. The covenant partner works in the backyard of historic Mercer University, which has had multiple student teams work with The Fuller Center at home and abroad. The Fuller Center for Housing is a faith-driven organization founded by Millard and Linda Fuller, the couple who founded Habitat for Humanity in the 70s. In 2005, after they left Habitat, Millard and Linda felt that they were not finished with their vision yet. They still felt called to end poverty housing, so they began the Fuller Center for Housing. This relatively new organization is now operating projects in 16 different countries and over 50 communities in the U.S. Fuller Center’s local organizations, called Covenant Partners, transform their communities by building new homes, renovating derelict properties, and completing small rehab projects on homes in disrepair.
